## Find the handoffs
- Where is information copied, re-entered, or requested again?
- Where does work wait for a person or an approval?
- Which exceptions require human judgment?

## Model the effort
- Number of people doing the work:
- Hours per person, per week:
- Fully loaded hourly cost:
- Active working weeks per year:
- Annual labor cost = people × hours × hourly cost × weeks.

This measures the cost of current work, not guaranteed recoverable savings.

## Define a first experiment
